I have a Massey Ferguson 240 that won’t start. Nothing at all. Checked the battery. I have tested the starter and senloid. I have tried bypassing the neutral switch under the air filter and have also tried bypassing the cables that connect to the PTO switch. The tractor was manufactured in 1998.
Check the negative cable at the battery and at the frame connection. There is likely a bad connection where the negative cable joins the rack. For a quick test, take the jumper wire from the negative terminal, straight to the starter housing and see if the extra ground will allow you to start the unit.
